OMEK 750 kVA Transformer Details
✅ OMEK 750 kVA dry type transformers: Available in three-phase, with cast resin insulation design. They have no risk of fire, which is safer. Suitable for indoor installation.
✅ OMEK 750 kVA oil filled transformers: They are commonly used as part of a box-type substation. Going with a HV cabinet and a LV cabinet, they forms an integrated pad mounted transformer. The oil capacity for a 750 kva transformer is approximately 500kg. It can be customized with a conservator. The oil types in a 750 kva transformer include mineral insulating oil, FR3 natural ester, etc.
All are in compliance with IEEE/NEMA/ANSI / IEEE/ASTM D3487.
Depending on the project requirements, you can select either dry type transformer or oil types.
- 750 kVA Dry Type
- 750 kVA Oil Filled
- 750 kVA Pad Mounted
✅ High mechanical and electrical strength: Its high voltage windings are made of high strength glass fiber winding. The low-voltage windings are wound with copper foil.
✅ Excellent insulation performance: The high and low voltage windings are encapsulated with epoxy resin. It is moisture-proof, dust-proof and fire-resistant.
✅ Other advantages: Almost zero fire and explosion risk, no pollution, preferred for indoor distribution rooms. Equipped with a fan, with significant cooling effect.
✅ Low loss: Its core is made of high-magnetic-conductivity silicon steel sheets. If you require lower loss, our amorphous alloy materials for core making can satisfy you. They result in extremely low no-load loss.
✅ Strong short-circuit resistance: The 750kVA high-voltage winding adopts a layered structure, while the low-voltage winding uses a new spiral type. The ampere-turn distribution is balanced, leading to a high mechanical strength.
✅ Other advantages: At the same capacity, the 750 kva transformer oil filled type has a lower price than that of dry-type transformers; it has strong overload capacity and maintenance free.
✅ Oil-filled tank: 750 kva oil filled transformer is the main component. Inside the transformer tank, there are 10kV load switch, plug-in fuse, off-circuit tap-changer, etc., forming an integrated layout.
✅ Sealed enclosure: Strong safety protection, fully insulated, no need for insulation distance, reliably ensuring personal safety.
✅ Outdoor installation: Waterproof, dustproof, moisture-proof, corrosion-resistant, low operating noise, no risk of oil leakage, very environmentally friendly.

Compared to the 630 kVA transformer and the 800 kVA transformer, the 750 kVA transformer is a customized product of OMEK. A larger capacity is reserved based on the 630 kVA, and it is equivalent to the capacity of the 800 kVA.
If the load of your original 630 kVA transformer is about to reach its limit, the 750 kVA is the most suitable choice. It not only meets the capacity upgrade but also avoids the waste of cost.
If you have any difficulties in the selection process, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

FAQs
Have any questions? We’re here to help you out.
To accurately know the current rating of a 750kVA transformer, you must first know the voltages of its primary and secondary sides. From the following formula for calculating amps, it can be seen that the current rating is only affected by the transformer’s capacity and voltages.
Full load current = 750 ÷ (1.732 × Rated Voltage)
For example, a 750kVA three-phase distribution transformer with 10kV/400V (Dry or oil-filled, no difference.)
– Rated current on the primary side: approximately 43.3 amps
– Rated current on the secondary side: approximately 1083 amps
When the primary side voltage is 10kV, the current on the primary side of the 750kVA transformer is 43.3 amps; when the secondary side voltage is 400V, the current on the secondary side of the 750kVA transformer is 1083 amps, and it can power approximately 600-700kW of electrical equipment.
The short circuit current is different from the normal operating current. The short circuit current refers to the extremely large current that surges out instantaneously when a short circuit fault occurs in the line. This is very important for selecting the correct circuit breaker.
Short circuit impedance is the greatest factor that impacts the short-circuit current. Say, the S11-M-750/10 750 kVA 3-phase oil-filled transformer produced by OMEK has a short-circuit impedance of 4.5%, so the short-circuit current on its low-voltage side is 1083/0.045=24067A.
