What is a Solar Transformer?
A solar transformer is used in solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems. It is also called a photovoltaic transformer (PV transformer for short). It is a step up transformer and a key component of a PV plant.
Its main function is to increase the voltage before power is fed into the grid, providing electrical isolation between the PV side and the grid side.

The solar step up transformer is key connector of the inverter and the power grid. It is responsible for boosting the voltage to the higher required by the power grid.
