Amorphous 3D Core Technology
Amorphous 3D Core design is applied to amorphous steel core transformers. This ensures a solid structure and high stability.
Low Noise
OMEK amorphous transformer uses a seamless magnetic circuit design. It keeps vibration to the lowest, and makes the AMDT transformer operate quietly and efficiently.
High Short-Circuit Resistance Strength
Also being professional in 3 phase transformer manufacturing, OMEK Power uses circular coils and a triangular clamping structure to ensure excellent short-circuit strength.
Energy-Efficient Operation
The amorphous core keeps the shortest magnetic path. It helps minimize power loss, reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
With two specialized production bases, OMEK Power operates both an amorphous alloy dry type transformer factory and an amorphous alloy oil-immersed transformers factory in China. With flexible production capabilities, we can meet your requirements for different energy efficiency levels.
Dry type series | Oil type series | |
level 1 energy efficiency | super low loss transformer | super low loss transformer |
Level 2 energy efficiency | extra low loss transformer | super low loss transformer |

It is a highly energy efficient transformer. Its core is made from a unique metallic glass alloy, which significantly reduces energy waste. This makes it one of the best low loss transformers available today.
AMDT stands for Amorphous Metal Distribution Transformer. These are low loss transformers specifically designed for distributing power from utilities to end-users. They are a key technology for modern, efficient power grids.
It’s a special metal alloy that is cooled so rapidly its atoms don’t form a rigid crystalline structure. This “glassy” metal forms the amorphous metal core, which is magnetized and demagnetized with very little energy loss.
The amorphous core refers to a core made of the amorphous alloy material. The amorphous core is the key component of the amorphous transformer. Due to the amorphous alloy material’s low loss characteristic, the amorphous core loss can be reduced by up to 70-80%, compared to traditional materials.
This is the traditional, widely used transformer type. Its core is made from grain-oriented silicon steel. Though it is reliable and cost-effective, it has higher core losses than an amorphous steel core transformer.
The key difference lies in the core material.
– Amorphous core is made from a non-crystalline alloy. It offers extra low loss performance, especially at no-load. Ideal for 24/7 operation.
– Silicon steel core is made from crystalline steel. It has higher core loss. Some clients choose it for its lower initial cost.
– Core loss is also called no-load loss. Even though the transformer is not providing power, the core can also be magnetized and loss is produced. This is where amorphous core low loss transformers excel.
– Copper Loss is also called load loss. When the transformer is working, the copper windings consume the electrical energy. The greater the current, the greater the copper loss.
