FAQ
We offer a flexible MOQ of just 1 unit, with no minimum quantity restrictions.
Yes, sample orders follow a 4-step process:
Step 1: Review and approve the CAD technical drawing and datasheets.
Step 2: Confirm sample pricing, lead time, and shipping terms.
Step 3: 100% factory routine testing before shipping.
Step 4: Shipment sent with complete Certified Test Reports.
OMEK standard lead time for a 50 kVA pole mounted transformer is 4 to 8 weeks—significantly faster than the industry average of 20+ weeks. Express production scheduling is also available for urgent projects.
Absolutely. OMEK can customize high/low primary voltages, tapping range, vector groups, rated frequency, dual-voltage outputs, short-circuit impedance, enclosure material, winding material, core material, packing method, etc.
Remember: Qualified personnel ONLY, wearing full PPE and using hotsticks.
Step 1: Ground the tank FIRST before any other connections.
Step 2: Lift the 50 kVA overhead transformer only by its lugs, with lifting angles under 30° and mount it level on a sturdy pole.
Step 3: Set tap-changers and multi-voltage switches ONLY when de-energized.
Step 4: Connect neutrals first, then high/low-voltage leads according to the nameplate. Don’t forget to insulate unused leads.
Step 5: Run Turns Ratio Test if internal connections change.
Step 6: Energize and check the secondary voltage.
Step 7: After energization, check if there is any abnormal noise or oil leaks, then clear the site and hand over to the operating authority.
Yes, surge arresters are very important external additions to conventional 50 kVA pole mounted transformers. They are designed to protect the transformers’ insulation from damage caused by high-voltage surges, for example, lightning strikes or switching operations on the power grid.
However, there are completely self-protected 50 kVA pole mounted transformers whose surge arrestors are factory-installed on the tank (typically near the high-voltage bushings).
Step 1: Drive the ground rod, at least 3 m from the pole, in undisturbed low-resistivity soil, vertically, with top at least 0.6 m below grade.
Step 2: Run the insulated copper conductor (size per local code, eg. ≥ 35 mm²) up the pole from the rod.
Step 3: Connect it to the arrester ground terminal and transformer tank. All joints must be tight and corrosion-protected.
Step 1: Power down high/low voltage sides, ground the equipment, and get your aerial safety gear ready, for example, harness, insulated buckets and ladders.
Step 2: Clean the bottom drain valve and discharge 1–2 liters to clear sediment and moisture.
Step 3: Direct the fluid into a clean, dry metal container or a glass bottle, filling it full to avoid air exposure.
Step 4: Seal it immediately and tag it with the transformer ID, date, temperature, and operator name for lab testing.
